Tomas returns to Bermuda for Hamilton Re
Bermuda-headquartered specialty re/insurer Hamilton Insurance Group Ltd has appointed Kylie Tomas as senior vice president, claims counsel and head of claims at Hamilton Re Ltd.
In this role, the company said Ms Tomas will manage the insurance and reinsurance claims teams and oversee all claims matters for Hamilton Re Ltd.
She joins Hamilton later this month and will be based in Bermuda, reporting to Hamilton Re CEO, Megan Thomas.
Ms Thomas said: "As we further build out our Bermuda platform in line with Hamilton's strategy of building a global, diversified specialty insurance and reinsurance organisation, the addition of Kylie to our team reflects our investment in superior talent and our commitment to meeting the needs of our clients.
"She comes to Hamilton with impressive experience, as both an attorney and claims expert, and will be dedicated to ensuring the continued delivery of responsive, professional and decisive claims service that values our clients."
The company said Ms Tomas joins Hamilton most recently from Sompo International where she spent nearly 12 years, most recently in Alpharetta, Georgia as vice president, claims counsel, head of US financial Institutions claims.
Her initial seven years with Sompo had her based in Bermuda as vice president, claims counsel, professional lines & Bermuda insurance claims administrative manager.
Prior to Sompo, Ms Tomas was with Liberty International Underwriters (now Liberty Specialty Markets) in Australia, where she served as claims counsel, and New York, in the role of senior claims specialist.
She started her career as a solicitor in the insurance and risk management group at Phillips Fox Lawyers (now DLA Piper) in Australia.
