Convex US launched to write E&S

Convex US has launched as a managing general underwriter with a focus on writing primary insurance in the US E&S market.
The new operation is owned by Convex Insurance UK Limited, a specialty underwriter of insurance and reinsurance, and part of the Bermudian-based Convex Group.
Convex US will write US E&S business inaccessible via the London market solely on behalf of Convex Insurance UK.
Dan Kumpf, chief executive of Convex US, was previously with AXA XL, XL Catlin and Catlin Insurance and Bob Eells, the chief operating officer, was formerly with AIG, Validus, XL Catlin and Catlin Insurance.
Head of strategy Lauren Pollock previously worked for AXA XL, Argo Group, and Guy Carpenter.
