SiriusPoint Ltd, the global specialty re/insurer based in Bermuda, was among the participants in a $2.4 million seed extension funding round by LuckyTruck, the tech-enabled retail insurance agent focused exclusively on trucking.

Led by Candid Insurance Investors, an angel network of top P&C insurance industry CEOs, this round brings LuckyTruck's total funding to $6.5 million.

Parker Beauchamp, of Markd, an insurance-focused venture capital firm, made a significant contribution to the round as well, the company said, while Draper University Ventures also participated.

LuckyTruck’s team has grown from 25 employees in January to 60-plus, and it now has more than 700 active customers.

The company said it is a modern insurance platform for commercial trucking, and the first all-in-one retail platform exclusively focused on the trucking insurance market.
