Sompo International Holdings Ltd, the Bermudian-based global provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty re/insurance, has appointed Ron Willett as executive vice-president, field management for the North America region, Commercial Insurance.

Mr Willett will report to Jonathan Monks, executive vice-president, head of distribution, business development and client engagement for North America and will be based in Boston.

In this newly created role, he will be responsible for leading the geographic expansion efforts while continuing to build the field infrastructure for the North America commercial insurance business.

Mr Willett joins Sompo International with more than 30 years of industry experience, most recently as the North America retail distribution leader at AIG, where he has spent the past 26 years.
