Women in reinsurance set to present Lifetime Achievement Award
The professional organisation for women working in Bermuda’s reinsurance sector is seeking nominations for its inaugural lifetime achievement award.
Women in Reinsurance said the award, marking its 15th anniversary, was designed to recognise a woman who has made an outstanding contribution to the Bermuda reinsurance industry.
The organisation has set a nominations deadline for February 2 and the award will be presented at the WiRe Women’s Day Gala on March 3 at the Hamilton Princess.
Corporate partners include Arch, Hiscox Re & ILS, Vantage Risk, Guy Carpenter and MS Reinsurance.
Among other attributes, WiRe said, the winner of the award should have served at least 20 years in the reinsurance industry, 15 of which must have been in Bermuda.
The winner will also have distinguished themselves for their character, service and leadership.
Peta White, chairwoman of WiRe, said: “WiRe takes the occasion of our 15th anniversary to shine a spotlight on the significant contribution of women in Bermuda’s reinsurance industry.
“The lifetime achievement award is our way of saying thank you to an exceptional professional who has been a driver of success and, undoubtedly, a role model for other women.”
Leone Charles, head of WiRe’s events committee, added: “The WiRe events committee is always seeking ways to support the growth and development of our members. The lifetime achievement award allows us to step back and celebrate their success!
“While the award will highlight one professional, it also presents an opportunity to salute the excellent service of all women in Bermuda’s reinsurance community. We encourage everyone to consider nominating a deserving candidate.”
