Six executives based in Bermuda, or having strong business links to the island, have been named in the annual Power 50 listing compiled by Captive Review, the source of news and analysis for the risk management and captive insurance communities.

Nkechi Kiki Oyemhen, senior vice-president and insurance team leader at Marsh Captive Solutions, has been named as ten “One to Watch” captive sector professionals for 2023.

The organisation said more than 7,800 captive professionals responded to its call for nominations for what it said is the “guide to the must-know people in the world of captive insurance”.

Nancy Gray, regional managing director, Americas, Aon captive and insurance manager, topped the Power 50 list.

She has responsibility for Aon’s operations in Bermuda, the United States, Cayman Islands, Barbados and Vancouver.

David Gibbons, partner and captive insurance leader at PwC Bermuda, is at No 17 on the list. Mr Gibbons is a former chairman of the Bermuda Captive Conference.

Checking in at No 20 on the list is Adrian Lynch, executive vice-president — North America, Bermuda & Cayman, at Artex Risk Solutions.

At 32 is Grainne Richmond, executive vice-president, head of captives, at Aon. She is the president of the Bermuda Insurance Managers Association (BIMA).

Nick Frost, the president of Davies Captive Management, is No 45 on the list. He is a member of the executive board of directors for BIMA.

At No 46 is Brian Quinn, chief executive and founder of Granite Management, which specialises in employee benefits programmes.

Ms Oyemhen was described as “an increasingly important part of Marsh Captive Solutions’ Bermuda operation, and in June last year was promoted to senior vice-president, insurance team leader”.

The Ones to Watch article said: “She has worked with captives in Bermuda since 2017 with JLT and then Marsh following the acquisition, and also has a background in the London market.

“With all these mix of skills and the ability she has shown so far, we can expect Oyemhen to keep progressing in future years.”

A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Captive Network added: “Not only is Kiki excelling within the captive industry, but she is passionate about developing pathways for Bermudians to enter the talent pipeline, supporting initiatives with the Bermuda College and BFIS to help young Bermudians recognise their own career potential in the insurance industry.”
