Promotions announced at Fidelis MGU

Ben Fortune, Bermuda chief underwriting officer at Fidelis MGU

Ben Fortune, Bermuda chief underwriting officer at Fidelis MGU, is among three people named to the organisation’s executive committee.

Deborah Leen, also appointed as head of human resources for the privately-owned Bermudian-based managing general underwriter, and London-based Simon Crone – who is head of partnership underwriting and EEA chief underwriting officer – were also named to the committee.

Ms Leen, who is based in London, joins Fidelis MGU from Arrow Global Group where she was HR director for the investments division. Prior to this, she was interim head of HR at Fidelis Insurance.

Fidelis MGU has also promoted Bermudian-based Nadia Beckert to senior underwriter of its reinsurance division, Jordan Ray to senior underwriter of its renewables division and Henry Edwards to head of contingency.

Richard Coulson, chief executive officer of Insurance, and chief underwriting officer said: “I am delighted to welcome Deborah back to Fidelis MGU. Her experience will be vital as we look to expand and strengthen our excellent teams in London, Bermuda and Dublin.

“I am also excited to welcome Deborah, Simon and Ben to our executive committee, these promotions demonstrate their dedication to ensuring Fidelis MGU continues to be a market leader in London, Ireland, and Bermuda.
