Jason Hayward to lead Bermuda delegation to Rims in Atlanta
Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, is to lead the Bermuda delegation at the four-day Risk and Insurance Management Society annual conference in Atlanta, which begins on Sunday.
He will be accompanied by representatives of the Bermuda Business Development Agency, Bermuda Monetary Authority, Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers, and industry executives.
Rims is the world's largest community dedicated to advancing risk management.
The conference, Riskworld, is the global centre of risk management.
The event usually brings together more than 10,000 attendees from over 70 countries, 400 exhibitors from across the globe, and more than 300 speakers.
Mr Hayward said: "Rims provides Bermuda with an excellent opportunity to promote its value proposition and highlight the key features that make Bermuda the world's risk capital.
"The Bermuda Government is committed to supporting and promoting the risk management industry in Bermuda. The Riskworld conference lets us meet global leaders, learn about new commercial trends, and emphasise the importance of this sector to Bermuda.
"Over the past several decades, Bermuda has traditionally had a strong presence at this annual conference. Bermuda must remain at the forefront of the Riskworld marketplace.”
Mr Hayward said the Bermuda reception hosted by the BDA on Tuesday will offer a pivotal opportunity to network with prospective Bermuda market entrants and will feature a welcoming address from David Burt, the Premier and Minister of Finance.
He added: “Furthermore, multiple business development, advocacy meetings, and media interviews will be held in Atlanta around the event."
