Professional services firm Marsh McLennan celebrated Global Volunteer Month in May with staff volunteering with two local organisations.

On May 12, about 60 Marsh employees partnered with Keep Bermuda Beautiful to collect 2,700lbs of trash during a cleanup.

Additionally, every Wednesday in May, colleagues prepared and served more than 1,200 meals for the needy at the Hamilton Seventh-Day Adventist church’s weekly feeding programme.

“As a global company, Marsh McLennan has the opportunity to make a real impact on the communities in which we live and work,” Bowring Marsh chief executive officer, Christopher Reeves said.

“It’s a responsibility we take seriously in Bermuda, not only during Global Volunteer Month but throughout the year. Bermuda is a beautiful place, and we are committed to giving back to our community in a meaningful way.”

The company’s Global Volunteer Month provides colleagues a focal point for team building and philanthropy.

In 2022, some 7,600 employees in 288 cities and 55 countries volunteered a total of 30,000 hours during global volunteer month alone.
