The 14th annual PwC Insurance Summit, presented with the Financial Times this November, will feature a line-up of leading C-suite speakers from the world’s largest insurers and reinsurers.

Expected to draw an audience of 300 to what the organisation called Bermuda’s flagship forum for insurance and reinsurance, PwC said delegates will be able to engage with global thought leaders who have driven substantial growth and transformation within the re/insurance landscape.

Confirmed speakers include Kevin J. O'Donnell, president and CEO of RenaissanceRe, Stephen Catlin, executive chairman of Convex, Juan Andrade, president and CEO of Everest Re Group, Greg Hendrick, CEO of Vantage Group Holdings, Mark Wheeler, co-CEO of Mosaic Insurance, Eric Andersen, president of Aon, and others.

Also present will be Ekhosuehi Iyahen, secretary-general of the Insurance Development Forum, the public-private partnership led by the insurance industry and supported by the World Bank and the United Nations.

Arthur Wightman, PwC Bermuda territory and insurance leader, said: “We are delighted to have locked in such high-calibre speakers and look forward to providing a platform for thought leadership, innovative thinking and deep insights into the future of the industry.

“As organisations operate in an age of disruption with threats on multiple fronts — insurance and reinsurance leaders are at the forefront, helping clients to gauge and handle these risks while managing their own balance-sheet exposure, and charting a sustainable way forward.

“The PwC Insurance Summit will examine how the industry is faring amid the ongoing global uncertainty, where chief executives are looking to find growth and scale, and the top risks they are facing.

“We will also look at how the Bermuda market has remained a pre-eminent domicile for property/casualty re/insurance.

“Impressively, Bermuda now makes up 36 per cent of the global reinsurance market and has seen its life re/insurance sector grow to over $667 billion in assets under management.”

The PwC Insurance Summit at the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club is an in-person only event, moderated by PwC’s insurance leadership and FT journalists Ian Smith and Robert Armstrong.

Topics on the agenda for the one-day summit include:

● What steps is the industry taking to innovate and position for the future in the new global age?

● What are the biggest game-changers for the sector?

● The global trilemma: how are CEOs navigating geopolitics, rising rates and economic uncertainty?

● How are key geopolitical developments transforming activity in areas such as insurance-linked securities and cyber insurance?

● What are leaders doing to deal with talent challenges in the industry?

● How are business models evolving to keep up with climate risk and its effects on natural catastrophe-related claims? How is the reinsurance market closing the protection gap?
