Chris Parish joins Lockton Re
A former partner at Bermudian-based Nephila Capital has been appointed market innovation leader at Lockton Re, the reinsurance business of the world’s largest privately held independent insurance broker
Chris Parish, who will be based in London, will be working with colleagues across the globe reporting to Claude Yoder, global head of analytics at Lockton Re.
Mr Yoder said: “I am delighted to welcome Chris to the team in this new and exciting role. To ensure our clients and partners benefit from the external technological changes that are occurring, the reinsurance industry needs to consolidate its data flows and share data through digital connectivity.
“Our lack of legacy systems and the flexibility of Lockton Re’s SAGE, our proprietary analytics tool, mean we are in a great position to successfully embrace this change. Chris’s expertise and experience will help ensure that Lockton Re plays a key role in this technology advancement”.
The company said Mr Parish has 25 years of re/insurance experience and was most recently at Nephila Capital as a partner and the portfolio management and funds team leader in Bermuda, and as a senior business adviser in London.
Previously, he spent time at Aon Benfield Securities, Aon Benfield Re and Benfield, working in London, Bermuda, Canada and the United States.
The company said his focus on clients, technology, securitisation and fund management gives him a great understanding of recent developments in the reinsurance market and insight into the potential for innovation and technology going forward.
Tim Gardner, global CEO, Lockton Re, said: “Lockton Re is in a very strong position with our technology investments and our forward-thinking analytics teams to bring faster and deeper connectivity to clients, reinsurance partners and our colleagues.
“I look forward to working with Chris, Claude and the wider team to support their efforts to modernise the markets we trade in.”
