Galen Brislane joins Miller in Bermuda
Miller, the independent specialist insurance and insurance broker, has expanded its US casualty team with the appointment of Bermudian-based Galen Brislane and London-headquartered Danielle Thorsteinson as account executives.
Mr Brislane started with Miller this month, and Ms Thorsteinson is set to start in early August.
Both will report into Mark West, head of US casualty.
Miller said Mr Brislane has more than 30 years of experience working in London and Bermuda, focusing on large and complex casualty clients.
He has broad experience in insurance, reinsurance and captive management.
Most recently, Mr Brislane worked as executive vice-president, US casualty, at Price Forbes (Bermuda). He has also held senior producing roles at Aon and JLT.
Ms Thorsteinson has more than 17 years of wholesale and retail casualty experience. Before joining Miller, she was a director in Price Forbes’s London construction team. She has also held roles at Aon, RT Specialty and Worldwide Facilities.
Mr West said: “These are two excellent senior hires for our US casualty team. Both Galen and Danielle have strong reputations, and I fully expect our clients to benefit from their broad experience in a range of business lines across the Bermudian and London markets.
“Like the rest of Miller, we have ambitious plans to grow our US casualty book, and I expect Galen and Danielle to be important parts of this.”
Mr Brislane said: “Miller has a stellar reputation in the London marketplace, and I am pleased to join a business with such a clear focus on what it wants to achieve. I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to play a meaningful role in the build out of Miller’s US proposition working alongside our partners in the region.”
Ms Thorsteinson said: “Miller’s focus on creating bespoke solutions alongside its service-oriented approach makes it unique, and I look forward to joining such a client-centric broker.”
