Barclay Simmons joins Hamilton board

Hamilton Insurance Group Ltd, the Bermudian-headquartered global specialty re/insurer, has appointed Everard Barclay Simmons to the company's board of directors.

Hamilton board chairman David Brown said: "Our board of directors is delighted to have Barclay join us as a director.

“His wealth of experience in leadership roles across several international organisations complements the depth of our existing highly skilled directors."

Pina Albo, Hamilton chief executive officer, added: "I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to Barclay to the Hamilton board of directors.

"His strong business acumen and diverse range of legal, investment and advisory skills bring great strength to our business, and we look forward to his leadership and contributions."

Mr Simmons is chairman and chief executive officer at advisory firm Rose Investment Limited and chairman of the Bermuda Public Funds Investment Committee with responsibility for advising on the investment of Bermuda’s pension funds.

He was formerly an investment banker with Goldman Sachs in New York and returned to Bermuda in 2006 as managing partner of law firm Attride-Stirling & Woloniecki where he worked until 2019.

Mr Simmons is a member of the boards of Petershill Partners plc and Argus Group Holdings Limited, and a former chairman of Butterfield Bank.
