Paul Simons named the next CEO of Convex Bermuda
Bermudian Paul Simons has been named as the next Convex Group Ltd Bermuda chief executive, effective January 1, 2024.
Convex, the international specialty insurer and reinsurer, has also named Christophe Chandler as group deputy chief underwriting officer, reinsurance, subject to regulatory approval.
Mr Simons will continue to be based in Bermuda and Chandler in London, both reporting to Matt Paskin, group chief underwriting officer, reinsurance and chairman of the reinsurance executive committee.
Convex RExCo will be made up of: Matt Paskin, group CUO reinsurance, who will chair the executive committee; Paul Simons, Bermuda chief executive; Christophe Chandler, group deputy CUO reinsurance; Roy Foster, UK CUO reinsurance; and, Richard Slater, Bermuda CUO reinsurance.
Mr Simons joined Convex in December 2022 as deputy chief executive officer of Bermuda, bringing his outstanding reputation and more than 25 years of experience in the Bermudian reinsurance market.
Mr Chandler joined Convex in 2019 leading reinsurance specialty. He has a wealth of experience in property and speciality in the London, Bermuda and European markets.
Mr Paskin said: “Convex places stability at the forefront of our client offering. We are delighted for Paul and Christophe and I look forward to working with them both as well as Roy and Rich, and the rest of our excellent reinsurance team.”

Founded with a strong balance sheet by Stephen Catlin and Paul Brand, the company operates out of Bermuda, London, Luxembourg and New Jersey with an “A“ (Excellent) A.M. Best rating and an “A-“ with stable outlook S&P rating.
