The Bermuda Monetary Authority registered two new insurers in August

The Bermuda Monetary Authority confirmed the registration of two insurers in August, taking the yearly total to 39.

The BMA confirmed Gearbulk Captive Ltd in Class 2 and Prismic Life Reinsurance Ltd in Class E.

Three insurance applications were reviewed in August by the Insurance Assessment and Licensing Committee, comprising two new applications and one carried forward application. All three applications were approved.

The BMA noted that the registration/licensing of approved insurance entities is issued after the IALC application process and may be confirmed in future periods.

In addition to the 39 insurers registered this year to date, the BMA has registered four intermediaries.
