Aspida Holdings names Alex Seidita as CIO

Bermudian-based Aspida Holdings Ltd has appointed Alex Seidita as chief information officer. He succeeds Joe Lurie, who is to retire at the end of the year.

“On behalf of the Aspida family, we want to congratulate Alex and recognise the significant contributions Joe made with regards to the launch, evolution and establishment of Aspida’s innovative technology platform,” said Lou Hensley, chief executive officer of Aspida Holdings Ltd.

“Through Joe’s leadership, Aspida built its groundbreaking digital annuity platform and set the company on a solid path for future innovation and success. We wish him the very best.”

The company said Mr Seidita and Mr Lurie will work closely together over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition.

Aspida said Mr Seidita is a seasoned IT professional with three decades of experience in leadership and strategic development of IT systems.

He will oversee Aspida’s digital platform architecture and development, infrastructure, application development, data analytics, and IT services, among other initiatives.

Mr Hensley said: “We are pleased to welcome Alex to the Aspida leadership team.

“His deep understanding of IT at a global level will be invaluable to our team as we continue to grow and expand our services. We are a tech-driven company focused on advancing our digital influence, and we believe Alex is the right fit for the job.”

Mr Seidita joins Aspida from MetLife, where he held several senior leadership roles as a senior vice-president, including data operations and shared services for the global data and analytics group; CIO, Latin America IT; and global chief technology architect.

The company said he managed teams as large as 900 people, covering a diverse geographic footprint.

Mr Seidita will be based in Durham, North Carolina.

Aspida Holdings, through its subsidiaries, provides retirement and reinsurance solutions, having operations in Bermuda and the United States with total assets of $10 billion as of June 30.

Its Bermuda-based reinsurance platform, Aspida Life Re, provides life and annuity reinsurance solutions to global clients.
