Two restricted SPI insurers were among four insurers whose registrations were confirmed by the Bermuda Monetary Authority in November.

East Lane Re VII Ltd and Fish Pond Re Ltd were registered in the restricted SPI category.

Energy Underwriting Ltd was registered in Class 1 and Gunnersby Re SAC Ltd was registered in Class 3.

Eleven insurance applications were reviewed in November by the Insurance Assessment and Licensing Committee, comprising of nine new applications and two applications that had been carried forward.

Nine were approved by the IALC, one was deferred and one was withdrawn.

The BMA noted that the registration/licensing of approved insurance entities is issued after the IALC application process and may be confirmed in future periods.

Fifty-five insurers have been registered to date this year, as have four intermediaries.
