Uwe Schoberth joins Canopius in US-Bermuda role
Canopius Group has appointed Uwe Schoberth as head of Distribution, US and Bermuda.
The company said Mr Schoberth would assume this newly created role and join the Canopius US executive committee.
He is tasked with elevating Canopius’s relationships with its global brokers, regional distribution partners and strategic clients, supporting the exploration of new growth opportunities.
His responsibilities will include fostering effective communication between clients and underwriters and ensuring partners are well-versed in Canopius’s extensive expertise and capacity. Mr Schoberth will also strategically optimise business opportunities in areas where Canopius holds a competitive advantage.
He joins Canopius having most recently served as chief distribution officer at Joyn Insurance, and having previously held leadership roles at Lloyd’s as well as other US-based organisations.

Canopius has also appointed Matthew Crane as Head of UK Distribution.
The company said Mr Schoberth and Mr Crane would closely collaborate, ensuring alignment of Canopius’s distribution strategy and clear points of access and lines of communication for its partners in both markets.
