James Trundle elected to Cayman managers board
James Trundle, formerly of Deloitte in Bermuda, has been elected vice-chairman of the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman, the umbrella organisation for captive managers in the Cayman Islands.
The accountant, now with Global Captive Management, joins new IMAC chairman, Kieran Mehigan, at the head of a body that is a regulatory liaison between the country’s captive industry and the Cayman Islands Government. It also promotes Cayman as a captive domicile.
IMAC hosts in Cayman one of the world’s largest captive insurance marketing conferences, attracting approximately 1,500 clients, directors and officers of captives, service providers and captive managers annually in December.
Mr Trundle spent two years in Bermuda with Deloitte as a captive insurance auditor before transferring to the Cayman Islands in 2009, where he spent more than two years with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority regulating the captive insurance industry.
In 2012, he moved from his regulatory role into captive management, specialising in group captives, insurance-linked securities and single-parent captive structures.
Mr Trundle is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
