Vikas Acharya has been named ChainThat’s new chief executive with immediate effect.

London insurtech ChainThat builds and deploys products that help broker, carrier and MGA clients across the reinsurance industry utilise technology and realise business value.

Mr Acharya is no stranger to the island. He spoke about ChainThat’s blockchain platform at the Bermuda on Blockchain conference in 2018.

He is the cofounder of ChainThat and most recently served as the firm’s chief operating officer, managing all operations from pre-sales to delivery.

He said: “I am extremely enthusiastic about leading this fantastic organisation, which I have been involved in building brick-by-brick since the beginning.”

“Clients can be confident of a steady hand overseeing their projects,” a company spokesman said.

Mr Acharya predicted this would be a catalyst year for ChainThat.

“As we propel ourselves into the next phase of growth, we will create scale for our Beyond suite of products,” he said.

“We will also continue to deliver on the promise of innovation by further weaving distributed ledger technology and artificial intelligence into our products.”

He thanked the former chief executive David Edwards and said they were embarking on a new phase, creating scale for their products and processes.
