Everest Insurance, the insurance division of Bermudian-based Everest Group Ltd, has established a dedicated private equity practice.

Dan Reinert has been appointed private equity vertical leader, reporting to Rob Clark, head of Everest Specialty Underwriters.

The company said the new practice would expand its offerings across property and casualty lines to serve the distinct needs of private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in North America.

“Building on Everest’s strong private equity foundation, we are scaling our offering with a holistic approach, specialised products and exceptional service to meet customers’ needs,” said Mike Mulray, president of Everest Insurance North America.

“Everest’s expanded offering aligns to our trading partners’ preferred way of doing business — with dedicated expertise through a single point of contact focused on providing the best possible experience.”

The company said that Mr Reinert brought extensive industry and private equity experience to lead its dedicated offering, which now included property and casualty product capabilities in addition to existing financial lines and transactional liability offerings.

Most recently, he oversaw private equity within Everest Specialty Underwriters, where he scaled Everest’s core product offering, general partnership liability.

The company also announced the appointment of Matt Murray to head of Private Equity Distribution, where he will oversee the vertical’s sales and distribution efforts.
