Bermudian Amanda Wynne has been appointed divisional director to lead M&A insurance solutions for clients across the Middle East & Africa region at Gallagher, the global business insurance, risk management and consulting services company.

Ms Wynne, who is based in Dubai, is a former insurance lawyer in the Bermuda office of Appleby. She also spent four years at Aon’s office on the island, starting as an insurance broker in 2019 and leaving as a vice-president.

She is returning to the work force after a yearlong career break.

Gallagher said: “The region is currently experiencing a buoyant M&A market, particularly in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), and Amanda's appointment reflects the growing demand for local expertise in this specialised insurance offering.

“With her background as a corporate lawyer in Bermuda, Amanda has advised US buyers and sellers on representations and warranties insurance, helping organisations navigate complex insurance landscapes and optimise coverage for multibillion-dollar mergers and acquisitions.”

Ms Wynne said: "I am thrilled to join Gallagher; the team in MEA all have a positive and 'can do' attitude and a focus on providing clients with first-rate technical knowledge of the insurance solutions available to them.

“Gallagher has grown its footprint in the region over recent years, and with macroeconomic experts predicting growth outstripping many other regions, there is an opportunity to support more businesses trading locally and internationally with their M&A risks."
