Conduit Holdings Ltd, the ultimate parent company of Bermudian-based Conduit Re, has appointed Rebecca Shelley as senior independent director.

Ms Shelley was appointed to the CHL board in July 2023. She serves on CHL's nomination and remuneration committees and on Conduit's ESG committee.

She succeeds Sir Brian Williamson as senior independent director.

The company said: “Although Brian has stepped down from the SID role on the same date, he will continue to serve on CHL's board as a non-executive director and chairman of the remuneration committee until CHL's AGM on 15 May 2024, when he will leave the board.”

CHL said Ms Shelley was a non-executive director of Sabre Insurance, Liontrust Asset Management and Hilton Food Group.

In her various non-executive director roles, the company added, she has served on remuneration (including as chairwoman), nomination, audit and risk committees and as the senior independent director. She is also chairwoman of the sustainability committee at Hilton Food Group.

Neil Eckert, chairman, said: "Brian joined the board at Conduit's formation in 2020 and I am grateful to him for his wise counsel in his role as SID since then and for his contribution to Conduit's growth. I look forward to working with Rebecca in her capacity as SID."
