Conduit Holdings Ltd, the ultimate parent company of Bermudian-based Conduit Re, has appointed Stephen Redmond to its board as a non-executive director.

The company said Mr Redmond’s extensive insurance and reinsurance experience includes a stint as managing director of Antares Managing Agency Ltd, and active underwriter of Antares Syndicate 1274.

Prior to his career at Lloyd's, Conduit said, Mr Redmond held numerous leadership positions in the London market, at General Accident, Eagle Star and Württembergische Versicherung AG, where he was managing director.

Neil Eckert, executive chairman, said: “With the experience he has gained over many years working in the London and global insurance markets, including in senior positions of strategic influence, Stephen is an excellent addition to the board.

“He enhances our ability to prepare for, and navigate through, the inevitable challenges and opportunities that will come to Conduit Re in the years ahead."

Trevor Carvey, chief executive officer, added: "I, and my executive colleagues, look forward to working with Stephen and gaining the benefit of his extensive underwriting experience and his knowledge of global insurance markets as we continue to build on Conduit Re's success and solid foundations."
