Abic gives interns a taste of international business
The Association of Bermuda International Companies has taken on three interns this summer: Zaire Lodge, Shane Steinhoff and Zadok Simons.
Abic executive director Wayne Smith said: “This is part of our work, to build up the Bermudian talent pool.”
Zaire is pursuing a degree in politics and economics at the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom. Shane attends Kent University, also in the UK, and is studying data science.
Both students are participating in the Department of Workforce Development’s youth employment programme.
Zadok graduates from Warwick Academy in 2026, when he plans to attend university in the UK to study marketing, multimedia, video production and graphic design.
Abic is hosting him in collaboration with SkillCraft Bermuda, a registered charity that provides high school students with meaningful work experience and training, with a focus on marketing and social media skills.
Abic has been helping Shane to learn practical skills that he will need to succeed after graduation.
“Since I became an intern for the association, I now have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the international business sector that is a cornerstone of our economy,” he said.
During their internship work with Abic, Shane focused on data and analytics, while Zaire and Zadok focused on marketing, communications and stakeholder outreach.
