Ramiah Brangman is the recipient of the Robert Clements Scholarship, awarded by the Chubb Charitable Foundation-Bermuda.

Three other students — Najee Pitt-Clarke, Tylasha DeSilva and Keiran Smith — also received education awards.

The organisation said the awards would provide invaluable financial aid to support the recipients’ studies and careers in insurance and related disciplines.

Ms Brangman is a 2024 graduate of Saltus Grammar School and will be attending the University of Liverpool, pursuing a BSc in actuarial mathematics.

A Chubb Charitable Foundation spokeswoman said: “Throughout her time at Saltus, Ramiah consistently displayed academic excellence, earning a spot on the Head of School’s Honour Roll every year.

“Ramiah is also a talented athlete, representing the Bermuda national football team.”

Lori Dunstan, the chairwoman of Chubb Charitable Foundation-Bermuda, said: “Ramiah’s commitment to excellence in both her studies and athletic endeavours, have truly distinguished her as a deserving recipient of the Robert Clements Scholarship.

“We are excited to provide her with the opportunity to advance her career and follow her passion for mathematics.”

The 2024 Chubb Bermuda College Education Award winners are two 2024 graduates of the institution.

Ms Pitt-Clarke will be attending the University of Reading, UK, pursuing a BSc in food business and marketing. The Foundation said she was passionate about promoting culinary tourism and sustainable practices within the hospitality sector in Bermuda.

Ms DeSilva will be studying for a BA (Hons) in social work at Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK. The Foundation said she was a remarkable young leader, having served as head girl at The Berkeley Institute and as student government president at Bermuda College.

Mr Smith, who was awarded a bursary, is a 2024 graduate of Mount Saint Agnes Academy and will be pursuing a BSc in mathematical and statistical sciences at Western University in Canada.

The Foundation said his academic prowess and commitment to excellence were evident throughout his time at MSA, where he was named valedictorian and inducted into the National Honours Society.

“Keiran, Najee and Tylasha’s achievements and leadership qualities make them truly deserving recipients of these education awards,” said Samantha Froud, chief administration officer, Chubb Bermuda Operations.
