PwC summit to tackle issues from AI to climate change
The 17th annual PwC insurance and reinsurance forum will bring together more than 300 professionals to discuss pivotal trends and strategies in the industry on November 12 at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.
The PwC Insurance Summit, presented with the Financial Times, will be moderated by PwC leaders and prominent FT journalists Ian Smith and Robert Armstrong.
It will include presentations by Stephen Catlin, the executive chairman of Convex, Jeff Poulin, the CEO of Canada Life Reinsurance, and Rachel Turk, the chief underwriting officer of Lloyd’s of London.
PwC Bermuda leader Arthur Wightman said this year’s event features top C-suite speakers and global thought leaders.
“Our aim is to equip attendees with the knowledge and connections necessary to drive innovation and achieve success in this dynamic industry,” he said. “The event also highlights the successes and opportunities in Bermuda, a central hub in the world’s reinsurance market.”
The summit will delve into several pressing issues and transformative trends, including:
• Climate change and the property insurance crisis: industry leaders will discuss strategies to address the emerging property insurance crisis exacerbated by climate change, exploring innovative solutions and policies to mitigate risks
• The Importance of insurance: conversations will focus on the essential role of insurance in society, examining ways to improve affordability, enhance access to insurance products, and close the natural catastrophe protection gap
• The adapting to uncertainty and risk panel will explore how the insurance sector is navigating a new era of uncertainty and risk, emphasising resilience and adaptive strategies in an ever-changing global landscape
There will also be panels on artificial intelligence, the cyber market, organisational inclusion and the pension protection gap in the life insurance industry.
