Insurance industry veteran Peter Spires has joined Bermudian-based Aspen as group head of compliance and deputy group general counsel, reporting to David Amaro, the company’s group general counsel.

Mr Spires most recently served as general counsel at Lloyd’s and secretary to the Council of Lloyd’s, among a number of other senior executive roles at Lloyd’s and Lloyd’s Brussels.

Mr Amaro said: “I’m thrilled that Peter has joined Aspen.

“His expertise and senior leadership experience will be invaluable in leading our compliance function and supporting our group legal capabilities as we continue to strengthen our global compliance and corporate governance frameworks and processes and enable the business in meeting its objectives.
