A subsidiary of Bermudian-based Arch Capital Group Ltd has promoted Jelle Ouwehand to head of Terrorism, Political Violence and War.

Arch Insurance International said Mr Ouwehand was responsible for leading the team’s underwriting activities across a broad portfolio spanning terrorism, strikes, riots and civil commotion and malicious damage, political violence, war, nuclear, chemical, biological and radiological, terrorism liability and organised crime.

Based in London, he reports to Lino Leoni, chief underwriting officer, Short Tail Lines.

Most recently, Mr Ouwehand was a senior underwriter within the division at Arch and before joining the team in 2018, was a senior terrorism, political violence and war broker at Marsh.

Arch Insurance International includes Arch Insurance UK and the P&C insurance operations of Arch Insurance (EU) dac, as well as Arch’s insurance operations in Bermuda, Europe, and Australia.
