Athora has interim leadership change
Rakesh Thakrar has been appointed interim group chief financial officer of European savings and retirement services group, Bermudian-based Athora Holding Ltd.
Mr Thakrar will also join the Athora Group Management Committee, subject to regulatory approval.
Mr Thakrar brings more than 25 years’ insurance experience, having most recently served as CFO of Phoenix Group – a FTSE100, long-term savings and retirement services company.
He succeeds Anders Malmström who will leave Athora in early 2025 to assume an external executive role in Switzerland.
The two will work closely to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
Todd Solash, Athora Group president and deputy CEO, commented: “Rakesh is a respected and experienced leader in the industry. His deep technical knowledge and demonstrable track record in M&A, including complex integrations, make him a strong addition to the Athora leadership team.”
