James Flude appointed CEO of Lancashire Insurance US
Lancashire Holdings Ltd has made a raft of senior leadership changes, including James Flude’s appointment as chief executive of Lancashire Insurance US and Huw Jones’s appointment to the new role of chief underwriting officer for Lancashire US.
The company said the appointments of Mr Flude and Mr Jones, which will take effect during the second quarter of 2025, will further strengthen the operational and underwriting capabilities of the US business as its growth continues to accelerate.
Mr Flude, who will relocate to the US from London, is now group chief underwriting officer: Insurance. He joined Lancashire in 2014.
Mr Jones has been chief executive of Lancashire Insurance US since its launch in March and was previously Lancashire’s head of Specialty Insurance.
Additionally, Matthew Narbett is to be appointed deputy group chief underwriting officer, Matthew Thomas will be appointed active underwriter for both Lancashire syndicates, and Rachel Sabbarton has been appointed chief underwriting officer for Lancashire Insurance Company (UK) Ltd, a role that Mr Flude had additionally held for the previous four years.
Lancashire said the appointments of Mr Flude and Mr Thomas are subject to the necessary regulatory and other approvals.
