Acrisure, the global fintech firm with offices on the island, has announced the appointment of Bermuda market veteran Martin Reith.

He will be based in London, working with senior leadership across several areas of the business.

Mr Reith will report to Matt Schweinzger and Grahame Millwater, Acrisure’s executives whose responsibilities include Acrisure Re, their London based and international based businesses, as well as all global managing general agents and programmes.

He will become executive chairman of Volante, a Lloyd’s business with extensive MGA operations, where he will work closely with the chief executive Talbir Bains and the executive team.

Mr Reith will also be advising Ben Canagaretna, managing director of Acrisure Re Corporate Advisory and Solutions, and reviewing and advising on Acrisure’s interest in accessing third-party capital.

Mr Reith has approximately 40 years of industry experience, having held leadership roles in underwriting, distribution and alternative capital.

Most recently he was chief executive at Helios Underwriting Plc and was the founder and chief executive of Ascot Underwriting in 2001.

Mr Reith is a non-executive director with Bermudian-based Prospero Re.
