Olivia Brindle has left Bermuda’s The Fidelis Partnership to join Canopius Group, the global insurer and reinsurer with operations in Bermuda, as head of Sustainability.

Ms Brindle will report to Lindsay Astor, chief of staff and head of Strategy.

She will be responsible for Canopius’s internal and external sustainability initiatives, ensuring all practices form a coherent strategy that advances the business’s role in driving greater environmental and social resilience.

The company said Ms Brindle will also be tasked with establishing and maintaining Canopius’s robust guidelines for sustainable underwriting and promoting new products.

She has 16 years of experience across consulting, financial markets and insurance and reinsurance.

At The Fidelis Partnership, Canopius said, Ms Brindle built up the sustainability function and helped to deliver a number of important milestones.

Ms Astor said: “Appointing Olivia to spearhead the next chapter of our sustainability strategy is a statement of intent.

“She brings exceptional credentials and is a genuine pioneer in the implementation of sustainability practices in insurance.
