Kristen Peed to lead Rims
Rims, the risk management society, has announced that Kristen Peed will lead the society as president for the 2025 term.
Ms Peed is head of corporate risk at Sequoia, a human resources technology platform and advisory services company headquartered in San Mateo, California.
At Sequoia, she is responsible for the placement of Sequoia’s corporate insurance programmes, claims management, and the implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
Rims said she is a highly accomplished captive leader, receiving accolades for her success including Captive Review’s “Top 20 Captive Owners” in 2024 and a nomination to join the International Centre for Captive Insurance Education’s board of directors in 2024.
She said: “It is a brand-new day in the world of risk management. Each day risk professionals awake to a whirlwind of new and evolving risks.
“While the world flinches at that uncertainty, risk professionals must continue to fearlessly march toward it, focus on elevating their skills and programmes, and position themselves to drive innovation and boost business resilience.
“As Rims 2025 president, and the fortunate risk leader to serve in this role during Rims’ 75th anniversary year, my priority is to help ensure that Rims continues to deliver thought-leading insight and powerful networking opportunities that allow this professional community to thrive for years to come.”
The organisation said Ms Peed has been actively involved in Rims throughout her career, initially as an officer and board member for the Northeast Ohio chapter.
She joined Rims’ global board of directors in 2018 and has served on its executive committee as secretary, treasurer and, most recently, as vice president in 2024.
Riskworld, the organisation’s flagship event, will next be held in Chicago, May 4-7.
