Ascot, the Bermudian-based insurer and reinsurer, has made two leadership appointments to support the group’s US marine business.

Jon Mosby has been appointed deputy chief underwriting officer, US marine and property, reporting to Jesse Paulson, US chief underwriting officer.

With Mr Mosby’s appointment, Dustin Jones has been named head of inland marine, Ascot US, reporting to Pat Stoik, head of US marine.

In this newly created role, the company said, Mr Mosby will work closely with applicable business units in the planning and execution of underwriting strategies, maintaining a framework for governance and performance monitoring, implementing solutions to support profitable growth and driving innovative product development.

He will also partner closely with Ascot’s global marine leaders to continue to strengthen this key specialty suite of products across the group.

Ascot said Mr Jones will assume responsibility for the inland marine team and continue to advance the market strategy for this critical business.
