Former PartnerRe boss to take on leadership role at Intact

Former PartnerRe president and chief executive Emmanuel Clarke is to take up the post of chief executive, global specialty lines, at Canada’s Intact Financial Corporation.

He will succeed Michael Miller, who will retire from the post at the end of March but remain with the company as chairman, global specialty lines.

Mr Clarke is now serving as IFC corporate director and chairman of IFC’s GSL advisory board. He will step down from the board upon assuming his new role.

The appointee spent more than 25 years at PartnerRe, serving as president and CEO from 2015 until 2020.

Charles Brindamour, the chief executive of Intact Financial Corporation, said: “As a board member, Emmanuel has already made strong contributions to our specialty business.

“He is highly engaged and energised by opportunities. I look forward to working with him as CEO, GSL, as we continue to pursue our objective of $10 billion in direct premiums written by 2030 at a sustained sub-90s combined ratio.”
