Juan Perez elected to AIG board

American International Group Inc, the global insurance powerhouse with operations in more than 80 countries and jurisdictions including Bermuda, has announced that Juan Perez has been elected to its board as an independent director.

The company said Mr Perez is executive vice-president and chief information officer of Salesforce, where he oversees the global IT organisation and data strategy, and advises on product strategy.

An AIG spokesman said: “With more than 30 years’ experience leading strategic technology initiatives at Fortune 500 companies, Mr Perez is a distinguished technology executive with deep expertise in artificial intelligence, data strategy and digital transformation.”

Previously, Mr Perez served as CIO and engineering officer at UPS, where he drove the company’s adoption of advanced analytics and led the implementation of technologies including artificial intelligence.

“I am very pleased to welcome Juan to the AIG board of directors and look forward to his contributions as we continue to advance our data and digital strategy,” said Peter Zaffino, the AIG chairman and chief executive.

Mr Perez said: “I am impressed with AIG’s underwriting profitability, financial performance and strategic progress in multiple key areas, including their development of a GenAI and large language model-powered solution.

“I am honoured to join AIG’s board of directors and support AIG’s colleagues around the world as they continue to position the company for long-term success.”
