EY chief economist to deliver keynote at risk summit
The chief economist at EY, the international professional services firm, is to deliver a keynote address next month at the Bermuda Risk Summit presented by the Bermuda Business Development Agency.
Gregory Daco’s address is titled “2025 Economic Outlook: Navigating Crosscurrents”.
A BDA spokeswoman said: “With economies in flux and uncertainty shaping financial strategies, Mr Daco will dissect the forces driving market volatility and reveal how businesses can position themselves for stability and growth in the year ahead.
“This keynote will cut through the noise to deliver a sharp, data-backed analysis of macroeconomic trends, giving attendees the strategic intelligence needed to anticipate risks, seize opportunities and remain competitive in an evolving global market.”
The BDA said Mr Daco is a frequent contributor to the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Barron’s, is a regular guest on CNBC, Bloomberg and NPR, and brings a global perspective honed through years of experience.
Before EY, he served as chief US economist at Oxford Economics, leading a team of high-calibre economists producing forecasts, analysis and research on the United States and global economy.
Mr Daco said: “Businesses that can identify and adapt to shifting economic currents will be best-positioned to thrive. At Bermuda Risk Summit 2025, we’ll explore the key trends shaping the global economy and what they mean for industries navigating an increasingly complex landscape.”
Craig Redcliffe, EY Bermuda partner and regional insurance leader, said: “In an environment where risk and opportunity are two sides of the same coin, having access to clear, forward-thinking economic insights is invaluable.
“Gregory Daco’s expertise will provide industry leaders with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions and drive sustainable growth as they shape the future with confidence.”
Kendaree Burgess, managing director of the BDA, added: “Bermuda Risk Summit continues to bring together some of the best minds in global finance and economics.
“Gregory Daco’s expertise will provide attendees with invaluable perspective on the macroeconomic forces influencing the industry in 2025.”
The Bermuda Risk Summit will be held from March 10 to 12 at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.
Mr Daco will deliver his keynote on March 11 at 11.15am.
