Rohan Pai has been appointed Ariel Re chief financial officer, overseeing the company’s continued development and commitment to being the “premier manager of reinsurance risk”, the company said.

Ariel Re is a global reinsurance business with offices in Bermuda, London and Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Ariel Re, Mr Pai was employed by Velocity Risk Underwriters, where, as CFO, he played a key role in driving the company’s financial strategies.

In his new role, he will be based in Bermuda overseeing Ariel Re’s financial reporting and treasury functions, supporting the company’s continued development.

Ryan Mather, Ariel Re chief executive, said: “We are excited to welcome Rohan to the team. His deep expertise in financial management and the reinsurance sector will be instrumental as we continue to grow and strengthen our market position.”

The company said Mr Pai brings extensive experience in financial leadership within the insurance and reinsurance industries in Bermuda and the United States.

Prior to working at Velocity Risk Underwriters, he was the treasurer and head of investor relations at Selective Insurance, and director of corporate finance at RenaissanceRe.

He began his career as an equity research analyst with Deutsche Bank and Bank of America.

“I am thrilled to join Ariel Re and work alongside such a talented team,” said Mr Pai. “The company has a strong brand and reputation, and ambitious plans for the future. I look forward to contributing to Ariel Re’s ongoing success.”
