As the American excess and surplus market grows, Everest is advancing its wholesale strategy by investing in top talent.

Today it announced three key leadership appointments to its US wholesale business, Everest Evolution.

Matt Meserole was named head of excess casualty, where he will oversee strategic direction and underwriting performance.

The firm said he was a proven leader known for attracting top industry talent, adding: “Mr Meserole has been pivotal to the company’s excess casualty organisation and to launching the excess casualty offering for US wholesale customers.”

Adam Birch will lead the strategic growth of Everest Evolution’s construction and energy industry-focused segments, while maintaining his role as central region distribution leader for US wholesale customers.

Cristin McCarthy has been made head of excess construction at Everest Evolution.

“Known for delivering consistent, high-quality solutions for construction broker partners, Ms McCarthy joined Everest from Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she held increasingly senior roles in excess construction underwriting,” Everest Evolution said.

Stephen Buonpane, president, Everest Evolution, said: “We are well positioned, with a significantly enhanced leadership team, to expand our market presence. We are focused on supporting our US wholesale partners with customised, exclusive solutions that meet the dynamic needs of the market.”

Everest Evolution provides specialised excess and surplus lines products through its US-based Everest affiliated insurers.
