Brooklyn choir, Cornerstone dramatists to stage musical
This Easter residents will once again have the opportunity to hear some of the soloists of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.
Cornerstone Bible Fellowship, which brought the Grammy Award-winning choir to Bermuda last year in sell-out concert, is again teaming up with the New York church ? this time for a theatrical production.
The Brooklyn Tabernacle Drama Company will be taking the stage with Cornerstone Bible Fellowship?s drama team for a production of ?The Necklace?, at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts on March 25 and 26.
It will mark the first time that the Brooklyn Tabernacle Drama Company has performed outside New York City. Soloists from the famous choir will also perform during the evening.
The drama, directed by Marlene Carroll and produced by Susan Pettrey is a tale for our times: the story of a woman struggling to find acceptance and happiness in a world driven by materialism. The Cornerstone Drama Team is directed by Niranjalie Romeo.
?We think it is a story that many people will be able to identify with,? said Pastor Gary Simons of Cornerstone Bible Fellowship.
?Through this drama, we are trying to get people to focus on the importance of relationships rather than material things. We would like to invite all of Bermuda to attend this powerful dramatic presentation.?
Tickets for ?The Necklace? are priced at $25 and will be available from February 15th at the following locations: Collectors Hill Esso gas station, Foreign Cargo, The Christian Bookstore, Jamaican Grill and All Talkin St. George?s.
