A local radio host will receive a performing arts award today for his contribution to Gospel music and the advancement of arts in Bermuda. Leroy Simmons, of Love Alive Ministries, will receive the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts Award of Excellence during the third annual Black History Month Gospel Music Spectacular.

The concert will include performances by New Creation Worship Centre Liturgical Dancers, Septimus, the R.O.Y. Adult Dancers, Prayze, the Vernon Temple Youth Choir, Lavette Fuentes, John Duncan and others.

Mr. Simmons is host of the inspirational gospel show, ?Get Your Praise On?, on HOTT 107.5 FM.

He is the founder and CEO of Love Alive Ministries, which produces music and provides music instruction. The show will start promptly at 7.30pm at the Ruth Seaton James Centre. Tickets are available at Christian Bookstore and Gift Centre, People?s Pharmacy and Caesar?s Pharmacy. General admission is $20.
