WARNING AGAINST VIGILANTES CTS Warning against vigilantes A Paget man walked out of Magistrates' Court last week with a six-month conditional discharge for using threatening behavior during a dispute over visitation rights to a young child.

Jason Noel W. Burrows admitted the offence, but said he had been provoked. He pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawful assault stemming from the same incident.

Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said the complainant was the ex-boyfriend of the woman who lives with Burrows, and is the father of her child.

When he went to the pair's residence on Moongate Lane on January 6, an argument ensued with Burrows.

The man alleged Burrows pulled out a machete during the exchange and "poked'' him in the chest.

The 20-year-old told Magistrate the Wor. John Judge that the child's father does not adhere to court-ordered visitation schedules and "comes over whenever he feels like it''.

"And every time I'm out alone, he and friends harrass me,'' Burrows added.

"If this man is bothering you, the Police and the courts are here to deal with that,'' said Mr. Judge. "Don't take the law into your own hands.'' GAS PRICES GO UP EGY Gas prices go up Fuel prices will rise from today, the Minister of Finance the Hon. David Saul has announced.
