Pastor General Joseph W. Tkach who died last Saturday.

Mr. Tkach was diagnosed in May with cancer after he underwent gall bladder surgery.

After a four-month fight against the disease, Mr. Tkach died quietly at 2.20 p.m. at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena California near the Headquarters of the Worldwide Church of God.

Mr. Tkach became Pastor General of the Worldwide Church of God in January 1986, succeeding the late Herbert W. Armstrong. In the event of his death, Mr.

Tkach appointed Joseph W. Tkach Jr. as Deputy Pastor General on September 5.

Funeral services were held for Mr. Tkach in Altadena, California on Tuesday.
