Seventh Day Adventists elect new Conference President
voted Dr. Samuel U. Bulgin as its new Conference President effective immediately.
Dr. Samuel U. Bulgin has preached in such places as Jamaica, St. Lucia, Barbados, Bermuda and the United States.
As the senior pastor of the Victory Seventh-Day Adventist Church in the Bronx, New York, for the past nine years, Dr, Bulgin saw the church grow from 84 to 420 members.
After ministering at the Crossroads Seventh-Day Adventists Church in Manhattan, N.Y. for two years, he was called to serve as the Stewardship Director of the Greater New York Conference form 1994 to 1997.
Currently he is the Executive Secretary (vice-president) of the Greater New York Conference of churches.
A graduate of two seventh Day Adventists institutions, Dr. Bulgin holds a Bachelor of Theology degree from West Indies College in Jamaica and a Masters of Fine Arts in Religion from Andrews University, Michigan.
He also received a Diploma in Pastoral studies from Blaton Peale Graduate Institute of Religion and Health in 1995 and a Doctor of Ministry degree from New York Theological Seminary in 1997, both of which are located in New York.
His doctoral thesis is about training lay persons who have been through and recovered from a traumatic separation and divorce to help others who are currently going through bitter divorce and separation.
Dr. Bulgin has authored the book, `Divine Design: Becoming Prosperous God's Way', a work on the individual Christian's financial management and contribution to the work of God.
He has held many seminars and workshops on the Christian Stewardship and Church Leadership, and he has seen hundreds come to faith in Jesus Christ as he presents the word of God with conviction.
Married to the former Roseclaire Musson Of Bermuda, the Bulgins have two sons, Lee and Paul.
Lee is 20 years old and a senior at Oakwood College, a seventh day Adventist institution in Huntsville, Alabama.
Lee, a National Merit Scholar, is a very committed Christian youth who has participated in humanitarian work in Southern Sudan, Haiti, and Guyana as well as in the US.
He is currently president of the Oakwood College United Student Movement and is planning to go to medical school in the fall.
Paul is 15 years old and is an eleventh grader at Mount Vernon High School, Mount Vernon, New York, and he is in the top one percent academically at the school.
An educator for 25 years, Mrs. Roseclaire Bulgin was educated at Newbold College in England earning a bachelor of Arts in History.
She received a Masters of Arts in teaching from Andrews University, a M.Sc. in special education from City University. N.Y., and an advanced Degree in education Administration from the State University of New York.
Mrs. Bulgin is currently assistant principal of Lincoln Elementary School in Mount Vernon, N.Y.
