Singing out for a cause
and take you on a journey with negro spirituals, favourite hymns and dance.
The show, to be held at St. John's Church, Pembroke, promises to be 90 minutes of inspiration and joy in a bid to raise funds for St. Thomas' Anglican Church in St. Kitts which was badly damaged by Hurricane Georges last year.
Gary Phillips, Leo Mills, Grace Rawlins and Ruth Thomas will recount stories of intrigue. Music will be sung by Gary Burgess, Marcelle Clemens, Grace Landy, Edrene Malcolm and the members of "Rejoyce'' -- Darryl Simons, Jackie Simons, Jennifer Butterfield and Michelle Doars with Lloyd Matthew at the piano and organ.
St. Thomas is the first Anglican Parish Church in the West Indies, founded in the 1600s. Repairs will cost at least $500,000.
The show is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and may be reserved by calling St. John's Church on 292-5308.
