Family fun at the movies
The Evangelical Church of Bermuda is launching a series of family movie nights throughout the summer to be held out under the stars on the Paget church’s field.Deacon Donnie Correia, who has been spearheading the series, said: “The inspiration really came from a burden I had for the past 18 months or so.“I’ve seen that families needed something that they could do together that was wholesome, and I saw the movies as an opportunity for our church family to be actively involved in reaching out to the community.“I also hoped that, through this, our church family might become more united in a common goal.”Dinah Correia, Evangelical’s Christian Education Director added: “It’s exciting for me, personally, because it is a great way to encourage families to make time for each other in a family-friendly, safe environment. These movies are designed for everyone to encourage us to build good character and strong values which last a lifetime.”Beginning on Friday, May 25, and following once a month through the end of August, the church will be featuring Christian family films on a giant 13-foot inflatable screen.
