Women to learn they are –‘pregnant with possibility’

Women will be looking at ways to overcome obstacles down their guards through a special conference hosted by Faith Deliverance Centre next weekend.Under the leadership of First Lady Winsome Lambe, the women’s ministry at Faith Deliverance, formerly Greater Smith Hill, will be hosting their annual women’s conference under the theme: “When the Womb Becomes a Tomb ... Yet God Restores.”According to Shoa Bean, one of the coordinators for the event: “We’re looking at how we function within the Kingdom of God, and how different obstacles in life are thrown at us and how we let those things stop us.”Using the metaphor of pregnancy and birth, she said: “We’re looking at women being pregnant with possibility. It’s a process, just like pregnancy, to let that thing - or possibility - grow to fruition... We need to birth that destiny at the end.”Even women who have reached the bottom and feel that there is no hope can find hope, Ms Bean said.“Even if you are in the deepest or lowest point in your life, God can still restore ... God acts as our physician, but senior saints are like midwives, coaching us along through the process.”Looking to mature Christians for their experiences and advice will be central to the first portion of the conference, to be held on Friday, June 8 at Heritage Worship Centre. The forum, which begins at 7pm, will run under the theme, “Conversations in the Birthing Room”, and will be led by Pastors Yvonne Ramsey and Blanche Burchall, Rev Dr Danette Ming and Prophetess Sherie Wilson.“These four women have been through a lot of these struggles,” Ms. Bean explained, and during the open forum, they will be talking from their own experiences. However, not only will these four church leaders be sharing, but women in attendance will also be able to discuss the challenges they have faced or are facing, and how God is bringing them through it.Before the discussion begins, though, there will be a dramatisation, “The Reunion BFF”, written by Winsome Lambe. Lambe wrote the play, “T.R.A.P.P.E.D,” which was performed for the conference last year. The conference will continue on Saturday at 10am with guest speaker Prophetess Joycelyn Barnett, from West Palm Beach, Florida, on the topic, “Shh... It’s Time to Push.”“We want women to push through everything and become what God wants you to be.”The session is expected to begin at 10am, however it will go on as long as those in attendance feel necessary. On Sunday, Prophetess Barnett will also be speaking at the regular worship service at Faith Deliverance Centre at 11am, following with the theme of the conference, as well as at a conference close-out service to be held at 6:30pm at Heritage Worship Centre. The cost for the Friday and Saturday sessions is $25.
