Church hosts free concert tonight
St Theresa’s Cathedral is the setting for a free musical concert tonight.Entitled ‘An Evening of Bach, Britten and Telemann — Musical Reflections of a Cathedral Church’, it will showcase the talents of Christian Lumsden, director of music for the local Catholic diocese, and visiting German oboist Imke Alers.Following a welcome by Father Paul Voisin and an introduction by Jens Alers, honorary consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bermuda, the programme will begin with Mr Lumsden performing Johan Alain’s ‘Litanies’, and JS Bach’s ‘Dorian Toccata’.He will be followed by Miss Alers who will perform Benjamin Britten’s ‘Metamorphoses’ and a work by German Baroque composer Georg Philipp Telemannn.The concert will begin at 7.15pm, following the regular evening Mass.Admission is free, but donations to St Theresa’s Cathedral will be greatly appreciated.
