Adventists launch 13 week seminar on Christianity
A 13-week televised Christian series looking to examine the ‘spiritual warfare’ going on between God and the devil, will launch on Monday.Hosted by Sammy Degraff and Damyon Ray, the programme called ‘Call of Duty’ will air on the Seventh Day Adventist television station, Channel 80.Mr Degraff said the series would look in depth at a passage in Ephesians 6, which gives details on the spiritual battle with the forces of heaven and hell for people’s minds and souls. It will talk about when the devil was first shut out of heaven and what he has been doing since then to try and deceive people and different tactics he has used, as stated in the Bible.Mr Degraff said the goal of the series is to make people aware of what’s going on so they can equipped themselves with God’s spiritual armour and building closer fellowship with Him.“Really the outcome is people gaining a closer relationship with God and recognising Him as the creator and worshipping Him,” the host said.He encouraged people to follow along with all 13 weeks of the series, but said just seeing one might give them the encouragement they needed to walk alongside God.“It would be good if they watched them all,” he said, “but with the power of God and the Holy Spirit it can even work through one message.“Maybe that was the one that person really needed to hear to get a closer relationship with God and will help them to think about things in a new way and study the word of God for themselves.”The series, airing on Mondays at 8pm, will tackle a host of subjects including: The Call of Duty for Christians; The Armour of God and The Fall of Lucifer. For more information e-mail southamptonsda@transact.bm or phone 238-1080.
